This doctor makes you feel that there is time to listen to your concerns and answer your questions. If there are any issues Dr Maghoub will follow them up and get back to you. He always does what he says he is going to do, and makes you feel safe in his care. Without Dr Maghoubs' input in my care I am not sure I would be here today. His confidence and knowledge gives me assurance that my treatment is in the best hands.

I first saw Dr Mohamed Mahgoub in February 2019 following my course of chemotherapy. He gave me the news that I had anticipated and seemed genuinely happy for me and my family. I have seen him several times since then for my 3 monthly monitoring appointments. I usually have a little niggle or glitch to report and he is extremely patient and reassuring. I am always anxious to get in and out of my appointments as quickly as possible, but Dr Mahgoub is not one to rush things, he takes time and care to ask me about my wellbeing and explains everything that I need to know.

Dr Mahgoub first saw me on 17th January 2019 when I as due to have chemotherapy for a cancer which had returned. As I had a lobectomy in April 2016 I was worried that the chemotherapy would further damage the remaining lung which had fibrosis. Dr Mahgoub went through all the pros and cons and helped me to defer chemotherapy treatment but keep the cancer under review at 3 monthly intervals - a decision which has been vindicated as the cancer has not grown over past 15 months.
On a consultation 4 months ago I did say I as concerned about my breathing and Dr Mahgoub referred me to a respitory consultant at Glenfield hospital and I am now receiving treatment for the fibrosis thanks to my referral.

Dr Mahgoub is a truly amazing doctor.
He took time in asking me and my husband, what we wanted to know about my diagnosis, treatment and future plans and in how much detail.
When I explained that we needed to know all the details of what we were facing and treatment options, he explained the details with kindness and empathy, answering our questions and worries, giving us the time we needed.
Dr Mahgoub treats me as a whole person, not just someone with a diagnosis of cancer.
He takes time to consider my husband and how this is impacting on us both.
